Torfaen Mind provides opportunities for people to access: support; advice; information; sympathetic listening; problem solving techniques; therapeutic groups and the space to socialise with other memebrs of the community in it's Wellbeing Centres in Pontypool and Brynmawr.

The Aims of the Centres are:

• To empower rather than overwhelm
• To enable people to live independently by helping them to gain (or regain) life    skills
• To offer choices and assist people to make decisions about their lives
• To help break down the barriers of isolation which mental health problems can   bring about by providing a non-discriminatory social environment
• To encourage members to discover and develop their inherent skills and talent

Whilst valuing our independent status, Torfaen Mind liaises with other relevant agencies to bring a broad spectrum of services under the umbrella of the Centres. So whether it is counselling, domestic support, benefits advice, life skills, education or child-care, for example, we can help you or point you in the right direction. We have strong links with Gwent Alcohol Project, Citizens Advice Bureau, Drug Aid and Fusion who regularly use our facilities to hold discussions and opportunities for further support.
